A Short Biography about my Best Friend
Loners don't have best friends. I have a lot of acquaintances, but no best friends. I have a few people I rotate around having coffee with, but no best friend. I have several people in my life who know me well and we can pick up where we left off and re-connect, but no best friends. To have a best friend, I guess you have to be a best friend. I am not really a good friend. This requires two people to be honest and unselfish, and I have been dishonest and selfish. Not malicious, just selfish with my time. You can't have a best friend if you are not going to be a best friend. This writing prompt is annoying.
He came into my classroom in the middle of third period, walking upright and proud, but taking a path that was the least noticable. We made eye contact and we both smiled. He walked over to behind my desk and put this things down, put his lunch next to mine. I made my way over to where he was.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Hey, just using your room as my office today, I don't really want to see "them" today." he replied.
Laughing, I said "No problem." A man after my own heart.
"I've got to go help Mrs. Winestat with a computer problem, I think her students hacked her password. Maybe I shouldn't have told them how to do it." he said.
I scoffed "Ya think?"
He recanted, "Nah, it was the right move. You gonna be around at lunch?"
"I'll be here."
"Great, see ya then."
"Later."
Besties.
