Living Independently
Being independent means managing your household budget, right? So let's say you need to buy some things for your house... go to Home Goods. Storage for your things helps to de-clutter your living space.

The more pressing issue is this: can you afford the things you want to buy? This does not mean that you check your bank balance to see if the money is there. It also doesn't mean to look in your sock drawer to see if the cash is there. If you want to figure out how to afford the things you want, you need to know what your overall budget looks like.
These thoughts got my mind going on budgeting again, and I have been slowly implementing budget work with my math class students. Some think it is boring, but I do believe that it is worth pushing through the seemingly boring parts to be able to know what you are doing with your money. Ultimately, that is what we are getting down to, the idea that you can have more control over your life, especially if you can learn the principles of money at an early age.
